Die Astronauten meldeten die erfolgreiche Landung in das NASA Kontrollzentrum in Houston, Texas mit den Worten &#8222;Houston, Tranquillitiy Base here, the Eagle has landed &#8211; Houston, hier ist Tranquillity Basis, der Adler ist gelandet.&#8220; Kurz nach der Landung begannen die Astronauten mit den Vorbereitungen f\u00fcr den &#8222;Mondspaziergang&#8220;, den Au\u00dfenbordeinsatz auf der Mondoberfl\u00e4che. Gut 3 Stunden lang erkundeten sie die Umgebung der Landestelle, stellten verschiedene Experimente auf, mit dem sie den Sonnenwind untersuchte und die Beschaffenheit und Aufbau des Mondes und sammelten Mondgestein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Mondlandef\u00e4hre bestand aus dem eigentlichen Landemodul und dem aufgesetzten R\u00fcckkehrmodul mit der Astronautenkapsel. Die Experimente f\u00fcr die Mondforschung und ab Apollo 15 der Mondrover waren in dem Landemodul der Mondf\u00e4hre untergebracht. <br>Nach Apollo 11 landeten bis 1972 noch f\u00fcnf weitere Apollo Missionen auf den Mond. 12 Astronauten betraten den Mond und brachten unter anderem 380 kg Mondgestein zu Erde.<br><br>Seit der Apollo 9 Mission hatte sowohl das Apollo Command Module wie auch der Lander Rufnamen.
